The Schoolfriend programme works with hundreds of schools and schoolchildren across the country, actively helping their children with Numeracy and Literacy, based on the National Curriculum.
The Institute of Education recently conducted a year-long study on the use of the Schoolfriend programme and concluded that it significantly improves children's results.
The Schoolfriend programme is easy to use, does not require any installation and is ideal for use in a lesson where, with minimal supervision, the children can be left to get on with their own individualized exercises that are automatically generated and marked by the programme.
The individualized nature of the exercises means that all abilities are catered for: from the children struggling in the class, to those who are at the top end requiring more challenging material.
The Schoolfriend programme works on Maths, Spelling & Vocabulary and the Phonicfriend programme delivers a phonic reading programme that takes children from recognizing the alphabet and learning letter sounds, to stories that can be read, printed and coloured in.
During the course of the term, the programme monitors each child's progress. At the end of every term, schools receive a full report on how each child is advancing through the programme with details of improvements in specific topics, as well as areas of weakness that the programme has concentrated on. Teachers can also access reports during the term that can help identify particular study areas that will aid lesson planning.
The cost to schools for unlimited usage by all the school's pupils of the Schoolfriend and Phonicfriend programmes, and including monitoring and reporting, is £13,000 + VAT per annum. If you would like a Schoolfriend representative to come and visit your school, please call us on 0870 442 2287 and ask for Gloria Phillips.
Schoolfriend is approved by Curriculum Online to take e-Learning credits.
