Schoolfriend is a unique, interactive learning concept, for children aged between 4 and 13 years.
There are many reasons why some children find that they are moving on to new areas of learning before having fully mastered the ones already covered in school. Equally, some children are able to progress quicker than others in the class. Schoolfriend is designed to help a child develop their understanding with a series of exercises that complement important school tests and exams whilst at the same time increasing a child's confidence in the subject.
Currently available for Maths, Spelling and Vocabulary and Reading, with plans for Punctuation and Grammar, English, Science, History and Geography, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning and General Knowledge, the Schoolfriend website involves an onscreen assessment for each child. From this initial exercise, a series of fun, entertaining and educationally beneficial exercises are tailor-made specifically to suit a child's individual requirements. By allowing a child to work according to their own ability and at their own speed while seeing a positive improvement in their marks, Schoolfriend also increases a child's confidence and self-assurance in the subject.
In addition, the flexibility of the system is such that, should a parent or a teacher wish a child to cover a particular topic in preparation for a lesson, then, without interfering with their current level of work, the computer can be asked to select an appropriate exercise covering that required topic.
There is a built-in system of Help too. Should a child need a bit of prompting on a particular question, a Hint button is available. If, however, a child is completely stuck on something, there is a Tutorial available, which will give the child a step-by-step guide to working out and understanding the problem. Children are receiving individual tuition at an incomparable price - from just £1.98 per week!
Exercises are designed for Schoolfriend by subject specialists, many of whom have years of experience in the field of teaching. Their knowledge and understanding of curricula has helped produce a perfect learning tool for children.
